Travel Assistance

We offer travel assistance to people in our community to attend WDHB referred appointments in Thames or Waikato hospital. 
We can either find you a volunteer driver, or provide compensation towards your transport costs if you are driving yourself to the appointment.

Eligibility.
 
To be eligible for transport assistance the following criteria must be met:
  • A valid Community Services Card
  • A letter or text message confirming your appointment
  • A bank account number due to payments being made via internet banking
 
We have a number of volunteer drivers who are available to take people to their appointments if they are unable to drive themselves.  The more notice of the appointment the better the chances of being able to secure a driver.  
 
We are able to fund ACC appointments if you are requiring a driver, which requires further details from ACC.
