Kapanga Flats

CILT has 14 pensioner flats located 200 metres from the centre of town, where there are shops, healthcare and social services. Seven of the flats are bedsits that were purchased from the Thames Coromandel District Council in 2008 through the the use of Housing Innovation Fund from Housing New Zealand Corporation. The other seven are one bedroom purpose built dwellings completed by CILT in 2012.

The following criteria applies for eligibility for the flats:

All tenants must be over 60 years of age

Tenants must be New Zealand Citizens

the Flats are for tenants with assets under $15000 for a single person, or under $20000 for a couple.

Tenants must be able to live independently

Pets are not encouraged
